ViaQuest Acquires Home Health and Hospice Operations to Drive Presence, Growth

An Ohio health services company is ramping up its home care and hospice presence with the acquisition of Indiana-based operations this week. It will target new growth through partnerships with local communities and long term care providers.

ViaQuest, based in Dublin, Ohio, announced it has acquired the Indiana operations of TriStar Home Health and Hospice—a division of Trilogy Health Services based in Louisville Kentucky. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Among the acquired operations, TriStar’s Indiana operations known as Vibrant Home Health Care serve 22 Indiana counties, with Care One Homecare Services serving another 11, and Serenity Hospice serving 25 counties.

TriStar’s 180 Indiana employees are employees of ViaQuest, effect immediately.

The company says it is targeting growth through partnerships such as those with senior living communities, assisted living communities, long term care facilities, community-based caregivers and other heath care providers.

“Through our comprehensive, integrated and multidisciplinary health services, we can provide more locally based options and individual solutions to meet the continuum of care needs of patients and their families,” said Rich Johnson, CEO and founder of ViaQuest. “We’re looking forward to building upon the solid foundation established by Vibrant, Care One and Serenity to provide increased opportunities for independence within an atmosphere of compassionate care.”

The timing of the acquisition aligns with health care reform and changes the way post-acute care is delivered.

“This acquisition positions us not only to become a primary home health and hospice provider in the Hoosier State,” Johnson said, “but also to expand the delivery of what is becoming an increasingly important post-acute care model for individuals in this era of health reform.”
