Home Care Assistance Expands in Conn., Fla. and Toronto

A senior care provider is expanding by opening new offices within the United States and rolling out additional services at its Canadian division.

Home Care Assistance is growing with the addition of an office in Clearwater, Fla. positioned to serve the Tampa Bay community; an office in Norwalk, Conn., positioned to serve southern Fairfield County; and new cognitive therapeutic services in its Canadian division,  the non-medical, in-home senior care provider recently announced.

The Florida and Connecticut offices bring Home Care Assistance’s North American office total to 94.

“I am thrilled to bring Home Care Assistance to our community and provide support to seniors and their families,” says Doris Kasold, Owner of Home Care Assistance Tampa Bay in a news release regarding the new Florida office, adding that caregivers are trained in
the provider’s proprietary Balanced Care Method and Cognitive Therapeutics Method.

Larry Gilmore, owner of Home Care Assistance of Southern Fairfield County, echoes Kasold’s sentiment.

“I am confident this new location will be a great resource for the residents of southern Fairfield County,” Gilmore says.

The expansion reflects seniors’ desire to stay in their homes as they age, Home Care Assistance says.

“Though 89% of seniors say they would prefer to keep living at home rather than move to a facility, thousands continue to enter nursing homes every year,” Home Care Assistance says. “With the support of a professionally trained caregiver, older adults can age safely and comfortably in their own homes.”

The Cognitive Therapeutics Method, being rolled out at Home Care Association’s Toronto/York branch, is aimed at maintaining and improving the cognitive function of seniors receiving home health care.

“We are constantly looking for ways we can better improve elder care in our home care community,” says Lester Fix, executive vice president of Home Care Assistance for the Toronto/York Region. “This program is another step to advancing the level of home care we provide to seniors.”
