Brightree Joins AAHomecare To Address Audit Issues

A home medical equipment (HME) software and services provider entered an exclusive agreement with the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) to address audit issues in the HME industry.

Brightree entered into the agreement with AAHomecare to be the information technology (IT) lead in shaping its HME Audit Key service.

The HME Audit Key was born out of the need to develop a system that shows lawmakers in Washington the affects audits have on HME providers, many of which the industry group says are “suffering financially” as a result.

As of June 9, AAHomecare’s two-week-old funding campaign had raised $43,500 of the $250,000 necessary for the HME Audit Key. The funding campaign will run for two years.

As the IT lead on AAHomecare’s HME Audit Key service, Brightree will shape this new audit tracking and data collection tool designed to quantify the impact of audits on the HME industry.

“The HME industry is ripe for innovation for those who can see its potential,” said Tom Ryan, AAHomecare president and CEO, in a news release. “Working together on groundbreaking programs like the HME Audit Key will help us reach our shared goals of serving patients and strengthening access to care.”

The new agreement makes Brightree an AAHomecare Silver Corporate Partner and sponsor of AAHomecare Stand Up for Homecare.
