Home Health Care Tech Targets Staff Education in New Rollout

Elsevier, a provider of scientific, clinical, technical and medical information products and services, launched Thursday the availability of a new suite of home care solutions and resources for nurses and other trained professionals working in the space.

The launch of Mosby’s Home Health Care combines home healthcare nursing content with competency management functionality to provide a single comprehensive resource for home health nurses, nurse educators and other home care professionals.

Mosby’s is meant to assist home health care organizations promote safe patient care, ensure staff competency, standardize home care practices, among other functionalities.

“In light of an aging U.S. population and advances in technology that allow for the care of very sick and complex patients in their homes, the importance of home healthcare, the delivery of care to patients in their homes and the maintenance of health continue to grow,” said Cindy Tryniszewski, RN, MSN, executive director of Clinical E-Learning at Elsevier in a written statement. “Mosby’s Home Health Care will serve as a powerful solution to help meet the needs of home healthcare professionals in this growing industry.”

Mosby’s Home Health Care address challenges related to the need to obtain current, clinical information near or at the point of care in the home, managing competency, administering evidence-based learning, and ensuring that best practices are available throughout the organization and that a defined standard of care exists.

On the education side, the new solution offers information on patient education handouts tailored for home health care; drug monographs; skills and procedures, which can be customized by the organization; as well as scales and lab values.

As traveling on-the-go is an essential part of home care, Mosby’s Home Health Care is also available on mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
