NAHC Recaps CMS Open Door Forum for Home Health, Hospice and DME

Following the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recent open door forum for home health, hospice and durable medical equipment providers, the National Association for Home Care and Hospice published a recap of important items and updates covered during the event.

Among the issues currently at hand for CMS are home health conditions of participation, for which CMS proposed a rule in early October that is open for comments currently. CMS also covered the 2015 prospective payment system rate updates, the home health wage index, updates in face-to-face rules for providers, the Home Health Value-based Purchasing Model currently under consideration, as well as several systems and processes updates, among other items.

The industry has experienced ongoing change, and the coming year will be no exception according to changes yet to take effect, and others under discussion.
