Univita Health Names New CEO to Lead Company

Univita Health announced that Jean Haynes has been named president and chief executive officer of the home based care provider.

“We are extremely fortunate to have an executive of Jean’s caliber leading Univita,” said Hugh Lytle, co-founder and vice-chairman of Univita. “We’re looking forward to working with Jean in expanding our highly differentiated model for delivering expert care in the home, where patients are most comfortable and where true efficiencies and cost savings can be realized.”

Haynes brings nearly 30 years of experience in health care delivery and managed care. Prior to joining Univita, Haynes served as the president and chief executive officer for Geisinger Health Plan, a leading managed care plan serving Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

She has also held management positions at Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan, OSF HealthPlans in Illinois, and at Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Haynes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing and earned an MBA from the College of Business Administration at the University of South Florida.

“Those with complex conditions must be cared for differently than the majority of patients,” remarked Haynes. “Having known Univita from my years in managed care, I believe the company’s highly integrated, home-based care management platform is ideally suited for meeting the challenges of high cost, high risk patients as well as those with additional significant nonmedical needs such as the dual eligible population.”
