Unity Health Systems, a home health provider, has adopted CellTrak as a new tool to automate healthcare workers’ functions in the office and during home health visits as a mobile point of care, Unity and CellTrak announced today.
CellTrak is a GPS-enabled mobile program that allows home care providers to record patients’ data using their mobile phone devices and submit it real time to physicians. The program seeks to allow caregivers more time with the patient, and less time dealing with paperwork.
Unity began using CellTrak in an effort to reduce employees’ mileage reimbursement and streamline scheduling and recording practices, the company said.
The program is easy to work with, said Lori Shamp, Director of Private Home Care Services at Unity. “The experience across our offices and with our home care aides has been very positive as CellTrak is easy to use and great to work with.”
Unity’s CellTrak runs on Verizon’s BlackBerry smart phones. The program tracks mileage and provides staff members with directions to patients’ homes.
