An first-ever event to discuss key issues within home healthcare was announced this week to take place this summer in New England.
The 1st New England Home Healthcare Consortium will take place June 9-11 at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
As the baby boomer population is expected to swell in the coming years, panelists will discuss how this demographic shift looks to impact the home health industry.
“The home healthcare market is going to explode over the next 10 years as Americans live longer and require more care services,” says conference chair Sandra Sergeant, RN. “This has implications not only for healthcare but also for the home building industry and technology, both of which must be an integral part of the equation in the design, construction and functionality of senior housing.”
The mission at the New England Home Healthcare Consortium will be to educate organizations and independent business owners, says Sergeant.
Part of this education, according to Sergeant, includes bringing key issues to the forefront so home care professionals can better understand how business will be affected by public policy, technology and social trends.
Speakers for the event include experts from various home health-related fields, including representatives from AARP, marketing organizations, researchers and home health professionals.
