Preferred Home Health Expands into New England Through DME Acquisition

East Coast-based home health provider Preferred Home Health & Nursing Care Services today announced it is boosting its market presence through the acquisition of Acelleron Medical Products.

The acquisition of Acelleron, a Massachusetts-based durable medical equipment provider, Preferred plans to expand its home health care reach into New England.

“We are very happy to bring the Acelleron team into the Preferred family,” said Joel Markel, President of PHHC. “We look forward to the opportunity to bring excellent home health care to many families and communities in New England.”

The company expects a full integration of Acelleron by the third quarter of 2013, through both expansion of home health services into New England as well as durable medical equipment services into PHHC’s existing markets in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

“We anticipate this acquisition to be truly symbiotic,” said Todd Thiede, CFO of PHHC. “Our product lines complement each other, and Preferred can take one more step toward broadening our reach and meeting more of our clients’ direct needs.”
