Hospice Provider Partners with CellTrak for Mobile Health Monitoring

A Colorado hospice care provider has partnered with a remote monitoring technology provider to streamline the care process via mobile devices.

Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care announced this week a partnership with mobile health care tech provider CellTrak to cut down on office trips and unnecessary travel.

“The redundant and counter-productive trips to the office created an added expense,” said Caren Ermel, CEO at Sangre De Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care. “There was a large need to cut back travel expenses, and with the use of mobile technology solutions, Sangre De Cristo Hospice and Palliative Care was able to reduce extra and unnecessary trips to the office made by our field staff.”

The technology allows for caregivers to track mileage via GPS, making the reimbursement process trackable in real time.

“The GPS feature makes it very easy to control the mileage reimbursement,” Ermal said. “This affected the administrative staff as well by reducing data entry and allowed for staff to be tasked with other activities leading to much higher levels of productivity.”

The technology also allows caregivers to verify patient visits to record and document their contact at point-of-care.
