A new technology provider is aiming its focus on the home health care business with hopes to revolutionize the security process associated with home care visits.
HID Global, an Austin, Texas-based security tech company is using near-field communication (NFC) innovation to help, according to a report by MedCity News.
The company is marketing its Trusted Tag service to home health agencies, enabling them to verify their identification to homebound patients and their family members, according to the report.
The basic concept is that the patient can verify the home health care provider via smart phone or other web enabled device that reads the provider’s ID tag using a one-time URL. The company is rolling out an Android-based pilot in the coming weeks with announcements forthcoming on the launch.
