New Partnership to Help Clinicians Remotely Connect with Patients

Clinicians and care managers will soon be able to remotely connect with and monitor patients in their home through a new partnership between Intel-GE Care Innovations and iHealth Lab, Inc.

The partnership will integrate iHealth vital sign monitoring products into the Care Innovation Connect Platform, allowing clinicians to actively manage patient chronic conditions.

The integration of the two projects is expected to reduce emergency room visits, hospital admissions and remove the cost and complexity traditionally associated with using monitoring devices in the home.

Care Innovations will have the ability to integrate data from the full range of iHealth Lab wireless devices—including blood pressure monitors, weight and body analysis scales, smart blood glucose monitors, and pulse oximeters—which will enable clinicians to access patient vital sign data from the home.

Officials say the partnership will allow clinicians to provide timely and meaningful clinical interventions.

“Our simple and consumer-friendly designs make it easy to capture, upload and log important vital sign data and enable it to be shared with both clinical and informal caregivers through a single platform,” said Adam Lin, president of iHealth Lab, Inc. in a news release. “This partnership brings our proven solutions directly to healthcare enterprises to cost-effectively connect consumers to their care teams via Care Innovations’ proven platform.”

The iHealth announcement follows the February partnership of Intel-GE Care Innovations and Caradigm, which focused on leveraging growth in home monitoring data via Care Innovations’ remote patient monitoring solutions and smart sensor technologies in conjunction with the Caradigm Intelligence Platform.
