Amedisys Chief Compliance Officer To Take Yearlong Paid Leave

The chief compliance officer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Amedisys, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMED) will take a year of paid leave beginning Aug. 1 under an employee agreement, the home and hospice company announced.

No explanation was provided for Jeffrey D. Jeter’s pending departure in an SEC filing submitted earlier this month.

Under the agreement, Jeter will continue to work full time for Amedisys through July 31. After that, he will be on an authorized paid leave of absence, in which he agreed not to “perform paid services, either as an owner, director, shareholder, employee or otherwise, for any other entity without the express written consent of the company’s chief human resources officer,” according to the filing. These terms of employment will be effective through Aug. 1, 2017.

As of April 1, Jeter’s annual base salary is $390,625. He will still be eligible to participate in employee benefit plans through Amedisys, and he’s entitled to certain indemnity rights, as well.
