Average Home Health Executive Compensation for 2016

Around the home health industry, executive compensation is going up, according to the 2016-2017 Multi-Facility Corporate Compensation Report from Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS).

In the 33rd edition of the report, a survey conducted in November 2016 by HCS calculated salary, total compensation and benefits from long-term care, hospitals and home health and hospice participants. The report surveyed 101 participants, including 35 home health companies with revenues above $25 million.

Some of the highest paid positions on average include:

-Chief Executive Officer—$456,533

-Top Administrative/Operations Executive—$275,259

-Chief Operating Officer—$255,528

-Top Information Systems Executive—$225,213

-Top Division Executive—$215,035

Compensation was calculated by salary and bonus as reported by participants.

The compensation range varied widely across home health participants, based on revenue and number of sites.

“In larger home health/hospice agencies whose revenue was less than $50 million the pay was $261,700, compared to $863,763 for those with multiple sites and revenue [above] $250 million,” a press release states.
