Monday Briefing: Pre-Claim Paused

Happy Monday! After a gloomy weekend in Chicago, we are back to bring you the brightest news across the home health care industry.

The controversial Pre-Claim Review Demonstration (PCRD) was put on pause last week in Illinois and won’t begin in Florida for an unspecified time. The news came late Friday afternoon, and the decision was largely supported by industry organizations.

Also on Friday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) submitted a proposal to delay the home health Conditions of Participation (CoPs).

We also kept you up to date on a new high in home health care, after the level of private equity investment in the space surpassed previous thresholds in 2016.

A series of portraits of centenarians—or persons 100 and older—caught our eye. The series is from Aging Gracefully,  by photographer Karsten Thormaehlen.
