Century Homecare Names New CEO

Century Homecare, a home health care provider based in Massachusetts, has named Milka Njoroge as its new CEO. The company’s previous CEO and Milka’s husband, James Njoroge, has transitioned to the role of chief information officer and will be taking on more responsibilities in a sister company, the Worcester Business Journal reported.

James Njoroge has served as Century’s CEO for the past five years, in addition to serving as CEO of Worcester-based Elgon Information Systems, a company that provides software to home health care. Many of Elgon’s clients are competitors of Century.

Milka Njoroge has served as Century’s co-founder and chief clinical officer.

Vanderbilt Home Care Services Hires CEO

Kerry Gillihan, MHA, D.Sc., has been named president and CEO of Vanderbilt Home Care Services, the home health care division of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. VHCS has been providing home health care services since 1985, and serves 35,000 patients and has 275 full-time employees.

Gillihan has managed and developed acute and post-acute hospitals and health care systems in rural and urban settings in Kentucky since 1979.

The home care service currently covers Davidson County and six surrounding counties, including Cheathem, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson.

24Hr HomeCare CEO and Co-Founder Wins Healthcare CEO of the Year Award

David Allerby, CEO and co-founder of Los Angeles-based in-home care provider 24Hr HomeCare, was awarded Healthcare CEO of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Allerby has served as the company’s CEO since it opened its doors in 2008. 24Hr has 13 locations in California, Arizona and Texas.

AccentCare Appoints Executive Vice President of Operations

AccentCare Inc., a home health care provider based in Dallas, has named Daniel Buning as its new executive vice president of operations.

Buning replaces Steve Jakubcanin, who left the company several months ago. In his new role, Buning will be responsible for leading the organization’s operations and shared services organizations. He is also charged with overseeing AccentCare’s business lines, including home health, personal care services, hospice, medical home care and health management services.

Prior to joining AccentCare, Buning served as COO at AxelaCare Health Solutions, a UnitedHealth Group company based in Dallas. He was also previously vice president of client delivery for Frisco-based Conifer Health Solutions. He has experience with Accretive Health, Citigroup and GE Capital.

HCR Home Care Hires New Clinical Field Staff Supervisor 

New York-based HCR Home Care has named Kristy Kelly as clinical field staff supervisor. Kerri Carpenter has been named care transitions manager at HCR’s Washington County operations in New York.
