Addus HomeCare Appoints Manning to Chief Human Resources Officer Post

Frisco, Texas-based Addus HomeCare Corporation (NASDAQ: ADUS) has appointed Laurie Manning as the home care services provider’s chief human resource officer, effective August 14.

Manning brings more than 25 years of experience working in the health care industry.

Prior to joining the Addus team, Manning served as vice president of human resources for Dallas-based Epic Health Services. She also held a two-year tenure with Humana as a human capital leader, as well as a 17-year timeframe with Concentra.

Manning will replace Brenda Belger, who is retiring from her position.

Rainbow Hospice Names New COO and Chief Nursing Officer

Industry veteran John C. Stys, RN, MS, MA, CPHQ, has been named the new chief operating officer/chief nursing officer of Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care in Mount Prospect, Illinois, according to its parent company, Chicago-based Presence Health.

Stys will assume his new role on August 7. Most recently, he served as director of quality assurance and performance improvement for Lexington Health Network in Lombard, Illinois. In this post, he oversaw the quality assurance and performance improvement activities of the community’s hospice, home health, private duty nursing, sleep diagnostics and durable medical equipment. For nearly two years, he served as interim administrator for Lexington Home Health Care.

Stys holds an M.A. in philosophy and health care ethics from Loyola University of Chicago; a M.S.in quality improvement and public health from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire; and a B.S. in nursing and communication from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Sun Health at Home Names Kolar as Membership Counselor 

Scottsdale, Arizona-based Sun Health at Home has appointed Jamie Kolar as a membership counselor for its Northeast Valley operations.

Her prior experience includes a three-year tenure in sales for senior living communities in Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, Arizona.

“Jamie’s unique mix of skills and knowledge of the Northeast Valley will help us build on the success of Sun Health at Home,” said Barbara Mason, SHAH executive director.

Zabell Assumes Chief Clinical Officer Role for Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice

Industry veteran Patricia Zabell has been appointed chief clinical officer of Lewiston, Maine-based Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

In her new role, Zabell will be tasked with leading and evaluating the company’s clinical services, focusing on improving patient outcome. This undertaking involves developing policies, protocols, practice guidelines and metrics to ensure the highest standards of care are met.

Zabell has more than 24 years of health care experience under her belt, most recently serving in a leadership role for integrated health systems, with a focus on home health. Her prior experience includes serving as interim executive director for home home health for a hospital system based in Florida and South Carolina, as well as providing leadership for hospice organizations in Maryland and New York.

Zabell earned her MBA and her B.S. degrees in healthcare administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.
