Regent Acquires Loving Touch Home Care

Regent Healthcare — one of the largest, non-franchised home care agencies in central Maryland — has completed its acquisition of Loving Touch Home Care. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Odenton, Maryland-based Regent Healthcare is a Joint Commission-accredited home care agency that provides in-home companionship, personal care and skilled nursing services. Regent Healthcare provides services to both private pay and Medicaid-eligible clients across roughly a dozen Maryland counties.

Loving Touch — which also operates Maryland — provides many of the same services as Regent Healthcare, while also offering Alzheimer’s and dementia care, businesses lines that many home care agencies have targeted of late.

Among its strategic advantages, the acquisition will allow Regent Healthcare to establish a local presence in Chestertown.

Regent Healthcare currently employs more than 50 staff members, according to the company.

“Regent is committed to establishing a local presence in the communities we serve, and we are excited to now have a location in Chestertow,” Regent Healthcare President and CEO Felton Magee said in a statement. “With this acquisition, we are now positioned to meet the rising need for in-home personal, companion and skilled nursing care on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, as well as create new job opportunities in the region.”

Sonas Home Health Care Has Acquired Advanced Nursing Solutions

Sonas Home Health Care, a portfolio company of Boyne Capital, has completed its deal for Advanced Nursing Solutions, a pediatric home-care provider. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sonas, Boyne Capital and Advanced Nursing Solutations are all based in Florida.

As a home health company, Sonas operates across Florida, providing services that include non-skilled companion care, long-term care, post-acute care and skilling nursing care. Its private equity backer, Boyne Capital, specializes in providing capital necessary to fund corporate growth and facilitate partial or full exit.

Advanced Nursing Solutions specializes in providing care for children with high degrees of medical need. Its combined business with Sonas will create one of the largest pediatric home-care providers in Florida.

“The acquisition of Advanced Nursing further propels Sonas as a leading provider of home care to the pediatric population in Florida,” Adam Herman, partner and COO of Boyne Capital, said in a statement. “Sonas maintains a sizable network of care providers with both an extensive geographic reach and a diverse set of skills to meet the needs of underserved communities across the State.”

Senior Helpers Opens New Texas Location 

Senior Helpers has opened a new location in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Baltimore-based home care franchisor Senior Helpers currently operates across 311 franchised businesses, providing personal care services and specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other diseases.

The Corpus Christi location will be owned and operated by Terri Hooper and serve seniors throughout southern portions of Texas. The new location will bring more than 30 new jobs to the Corpus Christi area, according to Senior Helpers.

In addition to its home care franchising business, Senior Helpers has also teamed up with the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Center in launching a nationwide franchising plan for its Town Square model.

FirstLight Opening Two New Florida Offices

FirstLight Home Care, a non-medical home care franchise company, has opened two new locations in the Tamp Bay area of Florida.

Cincinnati-based FirstLight — and its network of roughly 4,700 caregivers — provides services to clients in more than 34 states and 250 U.S. locations. Its clients include seniors, new mothers, post-surgery patients, veterans and adults with disabilities.

The two new Tampa Bay offices will be owned and operated by Farooq Hamid and Jabeen Hamid.

FirstLight Home Care of North Tampa will serve the north Hillsborough area, including Temple Terrace, Thonotosassa, Lutz, Pebble Creek and New Tamp. FirstLight Home Care of East Pasco will be located in the Land O’Lakes area and provide services to southeast Pasco County.
