Senior Helpers Names Geriatric Clinical Advisor

In-home care provider Senior Helpers has appointed Dr. Alan Abrams as its geriatric clinical advisor.

Maryland-based Senior Helpers is an in-home senior care provider with over 311 franchised businesses. The company was founded in 2002.

Abrams was previously at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he served as the chief medical officer.

CareFinders Total Care Names New Human Resource Officer

Kathy DiBenedetto has joined CareFinders Total Care as chief human resource officer, a newly created role.

New Jersey-based CareFinders Total Care is a home health company in New Jersey and Connecticut. The provider offers services to over 8,500 patients in 20 offices.

The top priority for DiBenedetto in her new role will be to accelerate the company’s ability to meet its growth goals by distinguishing CareFinders as an innovative employer of choice, according to the company.

“As the CareFinders business has evolved and expanded, so too have our human resource needs,” Linda Mintz, co-chairman at CareFinders, said in a press release. “With now more than 7,600 employees in 20 location in New Jersey and Connecticut, it’s paramount that we build on our HR foundation to continue to meet the talent acquisition, employee development and associated compliance needs of a growing and diverse employee pool.”

DiBenedetto has experience in global human resource management spanning multiple industries, including government, finance and consumer package goods.

Encompass Health to Create New South Central Region and Names Brad Kennedy as Regional President

Encompass Health Corp. (NYSE: EHC), formerly HealthSouth Corp., intends to create a south central region for its inpatient rehabilitation segment effective Jan. 2019. The company has named Brad Kennedy as the south central region president.

Encompass Health is a post-acute provider that offers facility-based and home-based care across 129 hospitals and 272 home health and hospice locations in 36 states and Puerto Rico.

The new region would include Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma. The realignment will increase the number of regions for the company from six to seven.

Kennedy has served as vice president in Encompass Health’s central region since May 2016.

“Brad has show continued success in every role he has held with our company over the past several years,” Barb Jacobsmeyer, EVP, president of inpatient hospitals for Encompass Health, said in a press release. “An experienced and knowledgeable leader, Brad is a highly valued member of our team and will continue to make a great impact in his role as our newest regional president.”
