Therapy remains a qualifying discipline under the PDGM model and can provide immense value to a patient’s functional well-being, health outcome and overall satisfaction. The physiology of the geriatric body does not change on Jan. 1, 2020.
The major change is how we define, report, deliver and are reimbursed for the care we provide.
In this session we will explore the indications for a therapy referral, the vital importance of a thorough therapy evaluation and functional assessment in the development of the plan of care, appropriate therapy utilization, alternate models of care delivery, how to empower our clinicians to maximize each patient interaction, and the positive impact of therapy usage under PDGM.
You will learn:

— The impact of therapy on the patient outcome via quality measures with optimum therapy utilization.
— How to define optimum therapy utilization.
— How to implement best practices for a thorough functional assessment of the patient to drive the plan of care and improved patient outcomes.
