Why Attend FUTURE?

Home Health Care News’ flagship in-person event for home health, home care and hospice executives includes networking and panel discussions with some of home health care’s most forward-looking CEOs, in addition to leaders from payers and health systems disrupting the traditional U.S. health care system.

If you haven’t been to FUTURE before, this is HHCN’s annual event that explores home-based care trends, with exclusive insights on where at-home care is headed in the months and years to come. In the past, for example, we’ve taken deep dives into hospital-at-home models (before they became widespread) while shedding light on the reimbursement challenges affecting in-home care providers most. This year, spotlight topics will include the continued evolution of home-based care services and supply-and-demand care economics, plus other key post-acute and long-term care issues.

FUTURE is for in-home care providers of all shapes and sizes, as well as investors and other stakeholders. The event will give attendees a better idea of how their business will change in the not-too-distant future, with tactical tips and strategic guidance from top thought leaders.

It was all going so well. Unprecedented demand. Record deal flow. Premium valuations. But then inflation. Rising interest rates. Staffing shortages.  And now buyers are as skittish as cats on the Fourth of July. In this session, we take stock of the current home health mergers and acquisitions environment, and perhaps more importantly, discuss ways both buyers and sellers alike can take advantage of this temporary slowdown.

Home-based care models continue to shape the future of health care delivery. This panel will set the scene for FUTURE while featuring insights from home-based care pioneers, drawing from provider CEO, payer and investor perspectives.

Top executives share their insights on the major operating trends, challenges and opportunities for home health providers in 2024 and beyond. Attendees will gain invaluable perspectives from industry leaders as they delve into their strategic outlooks for navigating the evolving home health landscape, addressing key issues such as regulatory changes, workforce dynamics, technological innovations and the shifting health care ecosystem.

In this panel, attendees will get an exclusive look into the strategic decisions and innovative initiatives shaping the future of private-pay home care from three leading industry CEOs. Speakers discuss growth strategies, payment shifts, workforce dynamics, emerging technology trends and more.

From historical trends to present-day strategies and future projections, speakers in this panel will delve into the diverse landscape of investment opportunities within the home-based care sector. Attendees will gain valuable insights into emerging trends, disruptive technologies and other market dynamics that are shaping the future of home health, home care, and HCBS investment.

Discover how private-pay home care providers are redefining the client experience through personalized care plans, enhanced communication and innovative service offerings. Hear from provider executives leading the charge as they discuss strategies for exceeding client expectations and fostering long-term satisfaction.

This panel will examine the shift from traditional fee-for-service models to value-based payment in the home setting. Speakers will share their experiences on what works – and what doesn’t.

Providers and other experts will dissect the latest trends influencing Medicaid home- and community-based services. Topics will include ongoing rate developments, state-driven innovation in Medicaid HCBS and more.

Capacity concerns and readmissions have plagued health systems over the last few years. Meanwhile, home health providers are dealing with capacity issues of their own. This panel will explore how home health providers and health systems can work more harmoniously together.

Breakout Sessions

Explore growth opportunities and expansion strategies for private-pay home care providers looking to scale their operations and reach new markets. Panelists will share insights into successful growth models, strategic partnerships and market-penetration strategies.

Keith Myers
Senior Advisor, Optum; Chairman/CEO Emeritus
LHC Group

When providers sit down with payers, they want more money. But that’s generally not the best lens to take into those conversations. Instead, leaders have to find ways to address payer pain points, and offer solutions to those.

Startups and health systems have gotten more involved in alternative at-home models such as hospital at home. As more at-home care models emerge, experienced home care companies have a chance to capitalize.
