Pittsburgh-based Celtic Healthcare has acquired a Missouri-based home care and hospice provider that will expand its footprint beyond Pennsylvania and Maryland into Missouri and Illinois.
The company announced this week it has acquired VNA-TIP Healthcare, a HomeCare Elite agency that has a longstanding history of nearly 100 years and has growth through acquisition of the Visiting Nurse Association of Illinois in 1999 and TIP Home Health Services in 2001 among other smaller acquisitions.
Celtic Healthcare will operate in more than 50 counties across Missouri and Illinois through the acquisition.
“This deal opens up an entirely new market for Celtic,” said Steve Braff, TBG Managing Director for Home Health and Hospice who headed up the deal team representing VNA. “With its ‘best-in-class’ management, operations, and technology infrastructure, the company is extremely well positioned to support VNA-TIP and further penetrate the Missouri and Illinois markets.”
The Braff Group under Braff’s leadership originated the transaction for which terms were not disclosed.
Celtic welcomed the new territory, employees and operations in a statement following the acquisition announcement.
“We are looking forward to serving the Missouri and Illinois region with VNA-TIP,” said Arnie Burchianti, CEO of Celtic Healthcare.
The company said it will add new features and services as a result of the acquisition, including complex care management, tele health and Journey speciality palliative care.
