Axxess Acquires Competitor Complia Health, Expanding Its Suite Of Services

Axxess — a home-based care technology company that provides agencies with cloud-based software solutions — has acquired Complia Health.

The deal had been in the works for some time, John Olajide, founder and CEO of Axxess, told Home Health Care News.

“[The Complia Health team] has excellent leadership, we have similar cultures, and they’ve had success in the marketplace,” he said. “They have a similar suite of solutions, and together we can accelerate innovation faster for our clients.”

Dallas-based Axxess works with over 9,000 organizations that serve more than 3 million patients around the world.

On its end, Complia Health is a home health and hospice technology solutions provider. The company aims to help providers simplify clinical, financial and back-end operations. Complia Health works with more than 200 clients.

“This deal is the happy result of two mission-driven organizations focused on making the most positive impact on health care possible,” Complia Health CEO Rich Berner said in a press statement. “After pursuing several paths to accelerate providing best-in-class solutions, combining with Axxess and the excellent team John has assembled made the most sense to ensure we are positioned to help clients achieve better outcomes and world class end-user experiences.”

Axxess originally began talks with Complia Health a few years ago, but ultimately these conversations didn’t result in a deal.

Fast forward a few years, and conversations picked back up until a deal was formed.

“We’ve always been in touch and kept up with their progress and all their accomplishments,” Olajide said. “We started having deeper conversations within the past couple of months, and it was obvious that this was the right time.”

The acquisition adds Complia Health’s clients – which include home health, home care, hospice and palliative care providers – to Axxess’ business, which represents a major market share boost for the company.

“[Complia Health has] had a lot of success, for instance, in their home care business,” Olajide said. “Now, we can win those large opportunities, and expand the suite of solutions available to those clients.”

Over the next several months, Axxess and Complia Health will move forward with integration efforts. Complia Health will continue to operate under the leadership of Berner during this time.

Ultimately, Olajide believes that both companies coming together further cements Axxess’ position in the broader home-based care marketplace.

“Axxess becomes the first technology organization with a complete suite across home health, home care, hospice and palliative care, that’s purely cloud-based technology with a presence in all 50 states, and continuing to grow in the national business,” he said.
