LHC Group Adds Senior Medical Advisor; Interim Appoints EVP of People and Brand

LHC Group names senior medical advisor

LHC Group Inc. (Nasdaq: LHCG) has named its former part-time chief medical officer, Dr. Benjamin Doga, as its new senior medical advisor.

Lafayette, Louisiana-based LHC Group and its 32,000 employees deliver home health, hospice, personal care and facility-based services to over 100,000 patients across the U.S.

Dr. Doga, who currently operates a general and family medicine practice in Lafayette, first joined LHC Group in 2014. He served as LHC Group’s part-time chief medical officer until July, at which time the company announced Dr. Tricia Nguyen had taken over the CMO role.

Prior to his roles at LHC Group, Doga served as the director of in-patient rehab at Southwest Regional Hospital and Lafayette General Medical Center.

In his new role as senior medical advisor, Doga will serve as an advisor to the chairman and CEO, Keith Myers, the board of directors and the board’s quality committee. He’ll also actively work alongside CMO Nguyen.

Additionally, Doga will oversee the company’s local agency medical directors, become a member of the company’s internal quality committee and advise the board and management team on risk management.

“It is impossible to overstate the value and impact of Dr. Doga’s contribution to our company – both as our part-time CMO and in his new role,” Myers said in a statement announcing the appointment. “Our company is fortunate to have two certified physicians as part of our leadership team, and I am confident in our ability to confront and overcome whatever challenges lay ahead.”

Interim hires executive vice president of people and brand

Carolina Lobo is joining Caring Brands International (CBI) — and its subsidiarity, Interim HealthCare Inc. — as executive vice president of people and brand.

“I look forward to working with the franchise owners, employees and caregivers who are at the heart of each one of CBI’s strong brands,” Lobo said in a press release announcing the news.

Caring Brands International is the holding company for Interim HealthCare Inc., a Sunrise, Florida-based in-home care franchise with more the 600 locations across the U.S. and systemwide sales of more than $1.16 billion in 2018.

Lobo brings 25 years of health service industry marketing experience to the role.

She recently served as the chief marketing officer for Bayada Home Health Care. Prior to that, Lobo served as vice president of marketing at AmerisourceBergen. Before that, she was the vice president and global head of brand and communications at Cigna.

She has the skills and expertise to lead us in integrating strategy and resources that leverage the power of our collective brands and the commitment of our people,” Jennifer Sheets, president and CEO of Interim HealthCare Inc. and Caring Brands International, said in the statement.

Former AccentCare executive joins RBC Capital Markets

RBC Capital Markets has hired former AccentCare executive Tim Wons as the managing director for its not-for-profit health care finance group.

RBC Capital Markets is a global investment bank that operates across 70 offices in 15 countries.

Previously, Wons served as senior vice president of strategy and partnership development at AccentCare. Prior to that, he served as managing director at Jefferies. Before that, he was senior vice president of acquisitions and development at LHP Hospital Group.

“Tim’s broad and unique health care finance background will be a great addition to our Healthcare Finance team and will add deep industry knowledge to our strategic not-for-profit health care advisory efforts,” Jim Tricolli, co-head of municipal finance at RBC, said in an internal memo, according to reports from The Bond Buyer.

OnShift expands executive team

Health care software company, OnShift has named Addison Grimes its senior vice president of engineering and Jim Alland its chief sales officer.

OnShift’s software solutions help senior living providers, health care organizations and post-acute care providers manage recruiting efforts, employee scheduling, payroll and workforce analytics.

Grimes joins OnShift with 30 years of technology leadership experience. Previously, he served as CTO at ScheduleSoft Corporation. Prior to that, he was CTO at Assure Software.

Meanwhile, Alland brings more than 35 years of experience to his new role as the chief sales officer. Prior to this appointment, he served as chief advisor for Healthcare Solution Market Strategies.
